Why We Built This Site
Indiana gives the public broad access to many court records, but the access path depends on the record. Newton County uses a unified Clerk of Court for county-level court records, and the county has both a Circuit Court and a Superior Court in Kentland. MyCase handles many online case searches, while the clerk remains the local source for older files, certified copies, official balances, and documents that are public but not posted online.
Newton County also has records outside the court file. Sheriff incident reports, crash reports, jail details, APRA requests, and custody questions belong with the Newton County Sheriff's Department. Traffic ticket deferral runs through the Prosecutor's Office and clerk payment channels. Federal cases go to the Northern District of Indiana, not the Newton County Clerk.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to any Indiana court, Newton County office, clerk's office, sheriff's office, prosecutor, jail, or state agency. There are real limits to what we can help with:
- We cannot file paperwork or send records requests on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any court document, marriage record, divorce decree, or vital record
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific Indiana case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, address, or procedure listed on this site is current right now
Only the issuing court or government office can provide a certified copy with an official seal. We can point you to the right Newton County or Indiana office, but the document has to come from them.
Search Partners
Some pages on this site include search boxes powered by third-party providers. Those companies set their own pricing and run their own services. When you use one of those tools and it leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee. That revenue helps keep this site free for visitors. We do not control what those tools charge or what appears in their results, and partner tools are not official Newton County or Indiana government systems.
